Signature Landscapes Ranked on List of Green Industry’s Largest Companies

Landscape Management released its 2014 LM150 list of the Green Industry’s largest companies ranked by 2013 revenue. Signature Landscapes ranked No. 138 on the list in 2013 annual revenue.

“It’s exciting to have made the list,” said managing partner, Lebo Newman of Signature Landscapes. “It’s truly a testament to the incredible amount of sweat and dedication our teams have delivered over the last 18 months. It’s nice to be recognized.”

The landscape industry’s top 150 revenue-generating firms logged a combined $7,668,025,804 in 2013 annual revenue—a 0.2 percent drop from last year’s list totaling $7,689,821,749 in 2012 annual revenue. The figure remains lower than 2010’s nearly $7.8 billion total. Overall, LM150 companies averaged a 12 percent growth rate from 2012 to 2013.

“Congratulations to Signature Landscapes and all the companies on this year’s LM150 list,” said Marisa Palmieri, editor of Landscape Management. “Many of the firms on this list are the best of the best. It’s an honor to be among them.”

The LM150 list, published by Landscape Management, represents nearly $7.7 billion in 2013 annual revenue. Learn more

Signature helps wounded hero and family enjoy a new home

Defenders of Freedom Home

A Northern Nevada soldier & family enjoy new home in Somersett

Signature crews installing landscape

In May of this year, a group of volunteers including Signature Landscapes raised the support walls for a Reno house being built for Sgt. Thomas “Trey” Humphrey and his wife, Lindsey.

Humphrey, 29, a graduate of Foothill High School in Henderson, suffered severe leg, arm, facial and brain injuries when he stepped on an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan in November 2010. His squad was trying to maneuver on an enemy machine gun position at the time.

The 1,739-square-foot home, valued at $275,000, is being donated to the couple as the first such project sponsored by the Reno chapter of the Texas-based organization Defenders of Freedom.

Some 40 local companies and individuals have donated more than $200,000 in cash, supplies and services for the Reno home to date.

Jim Stanhouse honored as Ambassador for the Landscape Industry

Jim Stanhouse, Ambassador to the Landscape Industry

Jim Stanhouse, commercial manager for Signature Landscapes was awarded with the Ambassador for the Landscape Industry by the Nevada Landscape Association.

Given to the individual who has best served as a representative for the Green Industry, the award is a testament to Stanhouse’s commitment to educating Northern Nevada’s future landscape professionals. His dedication to leading the certification process for the NLA over the years has resulted in certifying more than 100 landscape professionals, and helping to raise the bar for landcare and maintenance in the community.

“Landscape professionals who become certified are recognized for having the high level of industry knowledge plus the experience to do a great job,” Stanhouse said of the certification process.

Always humble, and willing to share the spotlight, Stanhouse celebrated the award by presenting certifications to this year’s seven new landscapers at the award banquet held at the Silver Legacy, Friday night.
