Dave Dabner

Signature Landscapes is proud to announce Dave Dabner has joined their commercial landscape management division. A farm boy from Willows, CA, Mr. Dabner has devoted his career to the landscape industry; from managing nurseries and irrigation supply firms, to managing municipal parks for the City of Orville. He ran his own Northern California landscape operation for 16 years before moving to Reno more than a decade ago.

His leadership in the industry includes past president of the Nevada Landscape Association (NLA), holds a C-27 Landscaping Contractor license (CA), holds a Qualified Commercial Applicator Certification (CA), and is a certified paver with an ICPI certification.

Mr. Dabner helped usher in the newer, more refreshing California Style of landscape to the Truckee Meadows. Key introductions included a larger plant palette that was colorful throughout the seasons, and smart landscape designs to help reduce ever-increasing maintenance expenses. His efforts also helped bring smarter water management programs to our larger properties where he has been a driving force for water conservation ever since.

Signature is proud to welcome Mr. Dabner into the umbrella of Signature’s premium services.

Signature Landscapes is proud to announce the hiring of Joe Blackham, the newest member of our residential specialty sales team. Mr. Blackham’s role is focused on the homeowner’s need for turf and irrigation renovation, new plantings (trees and shrubs), yard care packages and Signatures Concierge Care programs.

Joe’s strengths concentrate on customer interaction and his strong background is unique as he hails from the nursery industry as well as sales. His tenure at Hines Nurseries had him overseeing the sales and fulfillment of live goods for 12 home supply stores with the product knowledge ranging the full gamut from color to shrubs and trees, representing five growing sites, inventory control, and customer communication.

Mr. Blackham most recently managed business development for Fast Signs and covered the Truckee Meadows and Carson Valley territories.

The Signature Landscapes team is excited to welcome Mr. Blackham into the family.

Radio show to host landscape leaders

Rick Clark and Lebo Newman, co-owners of Signature Landscapes and Reno Lawn & Landscape are scheduled to appear on the local gardening show “The Impatient Gardener” hosted by Marnie Brennan. You can hear them laughing, joking and hopefully helping call in listeners with their yard and landscape questions.

Catch them this Saturday, May 9th from 10am to 11am. If you have any questions
for them now, simply email them at info@renolawn.com and they’ll make sure to answer
them on the air.

Mrs. Brennan hosts this great radio show every Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., on the BUZZ at 1270 am. She’s also heading up the spring re-opening at the Garden Shop Nursery’s new location at 3636 Mayberry Drive, in Reno. Drop by and tell her you heard about the show on the Reno Lawn site.

Sports Legend and Local Celebrities Auction Art to Signature Landscapes

What’s one thing local news anchors Kristin Remington and Wendy Damonte, sports legend Jackie Joyner-Kersee to radio heroes Bill, Connie and Trey have in common? They have all donated their time to participate in the celebrity painted plate auction supporting the Komen for the Cure Foundation of Northern Nevada.
Each plate is a custom one-of-a-kind piece of art and will be on permanent display at the brand new Signature Landscapes landscape campus in South Reno.
“I enjoy supporting local events and this charity means so much to the community,” says co-owner Lebo Newman. “We get an opportunity to give back and receive some really nice art in return. This is a great program.”
This isn’t the first time Signature Landscapes has participated in the charity auction. Last year Newman was high bidder on a number of great plates created by artists such as country music greats Reba McEntire and Dierks Bentley, singer Melissa Manchester and local cartoonist Brian Crane.
